We are filming an indie feature. First day is this SATURDAY, DECEMBER 10th. We will be filming in Monterey Park. There is only one scene we need makeup effects for. So this will be a half day. The shoot is in the afternoon. We may have call time before afternoon, but not very early. The pay for this half day is $175. The effect involves people who have just been in a car accident. A young woman will require very light makeup, minor abrasions, nothing much. Then the man will require a severe injury. In the screenplay it says that his arm bone is sticking through the skin. If this can be achieved realistically, good. If it can't be 100% realistic, then we can do some other kind of laceration. If blood can also come out of the wound, even better, but I know that involves a more intensive process, so let's talk about our options. It is not a horror movie. It's a realistic indie film, so it needs to look very real. (Also, a third actor will approach the wreckage, and although he doesn't get in an accident, he touches the other actor, so we may need to oversee that just the right amount of blood gets on him, anyway just thought we should mention the third character). Please reach out and let us know your experience and if you're interested and available this weekend. There are three other shoot days involving makeup effects for this film, happening in January, so we'd love to have you on those too.
