CASTING CALL: MALE ACTOR (30s–Early 40s) Role: Norman (Lead) We are seeking a strong, dramatic actor to portray Norman, a deeply complex and emotionally layered character. CHARACTER DESCRIPTION: Norman (30s–early 40s) is an emotionally fragile man whose dependency on Nina is rooted in profound abandonment issues. Despite clear mistreatment, he clings to the relationship. He oscillates between quiet pleading and flashes of suppressed rage, but ultimately retreats into fear whenever Nina asserts control. Self-aware yet emotionally paralyzed, Norman is a man trapped within himself—yearning for connection but unable to break free from his psychological cycle. PROJECT LOGLINE: Over the course of a single night in a decaying home, Norman spirals into desperation for connection after Nina—a beautiful, charismatic yet emotionally detached woman—engages in intimacy with him and then withdraws into an eerie stillness. Her unnatural detachment suggests something far more sinister than simple abandonment. As Norman's resentment festers and her cold repulsion intensifies without ever leading to departure, he reaches a breaking point—his unspoken dread unraveling him completely. PERFORMANCE NOTES: Requires a strong emotional range and control Ability to convey vulnerability, tension, and internal conflict Comfort with intense, intimate, and psychologically driven scenes Subtlety is key—performance relies heavily on internalization and restraint
