We are casting the lead role in a satirical, meta short film about a man chasing his dreams: Fisherman Trout – a darkly comedic portrait of a man chasing his dream of being a director while sliding into entrepreneurial delusion. This film will be written and directed by Alex Fischman Cardenás & Trout Cohen Role: Fisherman Trout Male, 20s–40s Hispanic/Latino preferred (but open to all) Sweet, small in stature, unassuming but oddly confident Ability to balance sincerity with awkward comedy Must be comfortable delivering both deadpan humor and vulnerable moments of quiet defeat Character has a pet cat, sells tubs out of his car, and believes he'll one day "go to Italy"... He really likes italy. Tone & Style: The film is absurd, tragicomic, and heartfelt – somewhere between Nathan For You, and I Think you should leave. We want an actor who can lean into awkward silences, misdirected confidence, and moments of genuine pathos.
