We are two studio musicians who have just begun filming a series of percussion-only videos. Our goal is to create a calm feel for meditation, relaxation, and even healing through rhythm. We have many instruments, including the bodhrán, djembe, darbuka, and drum set, plus Brazilian and Latin percussion. We hope to create an ongoing series that features them. We'd like to add a female movement artist or dancer to bring a visual, artsy element to the videos: slow, flowing, ambient movement, especially with the hands, that responds to the sounds as they happen. We're picturing something along the lines of contemporary, interpretive, or movement-meditation styles, but we're open to your own take. It's a chance to move with live musicians, where you respond to the rhythm and we respond to you. We'll start with one paid session to see how it goes, and take it from there. This is very low-pressure. There's no choreography to learn and no wrong way to move. You don't need to be a professional, and you're welcome to bring a friend to our studio. Before any filming, we'd like to do a quick FaceTime or video call (about 10 minutes) to say hi, chat about the project, and make sure it's a good fit.
