I'm looking for a hair/make up artist. For the 1st shoot date of an indie psychological horror feature film that takes place on July 14th. One location, very small crew. 2 actors total, mainly simple hair and make up for the lead/ minor neck wound for later shots. some minor vfx required on the second actor who appears in two scenes (the idea is to turn her pale/ghoulish, think early stages of a corpse) I can elaborate on this further and share reference photos. The day has been meticulously mapped out, I anticipate we'll wrap early based on the workflow. I'm looking for someone who's a team player, loves what they do and is okay with a day rate of $250. This isn't my first rodeo, and I definitely don't want to disrespect anyone's rate, or come across like I don't know what I'm asking. I know there's usually a kit fee etc. but the strategy is to use this first day as a clear picture for some investors that I have the interest of, so a minor sacrifice for this specific day is something I'm asking (not lightly). That being said, I'd be happy to re negotiate/honor your rate for the following days once we're fully funded and I'm making this film with the intent to take it to the market so I am not opposed to also offering a point on the backend on top of your day rate. In the meantime not that filmmaking is easy but I planned this first day to be as easy as it possibly can for everyone involved. No overshooting, no second guessing, just a clear vision I'd love to execute with my small but mighty down to earth crew. If this sounds like a gig for you, feel free to reach out. A brief backstory about me, I'm a director, writer, editor, cinematographer with 12 years of experience. I'm approaching this film practically, the first day mainly builds on atmosphere and is the intro of the film. One highlight to note is, another horror screenplay I wrote was featured on the black list this year which i can share upon request. I mention this to express that I put a lot of thought, quality and love into my stories, and this one is no different. Thanks for reading this, hope to hear and share more with you soon.
