All shutter speeds have been tested and are within an appropriate working range. Meter is operating. A superb user example of Minolta's top-of-the-line SRT, with attractive honest patina from decades of use. This is a particularly appealing Minolta SRT-202, the top-of-the-line model in Minolta's classic mechanical SRT series in the rarely encountered black paint finish. The SRT-202 was Minolta's most fully featured conventional SRT body. It retained the famously rugged mechanical shutter and CLC match-needle metering system while providing a full-information finder displaying both aperture and shutter speed, split-image focusing, depth-of-field preview, self timer, and Minolta's safe-load film-advance indicator. It was the culmination of the long-running SRT design. Mechanical condition I have tested the shutter speeds on this camera and all speeds are operating within an appropriate working range. Film advance, shutter release, rewind and the other basic mechanical controls operate properly. I have personally run film through the camera and successfully photographed with it. Self timer has not been tested. These were fiddly when these cameras were new. Assume it is inoperable. The meter is operating and useful in the field. As I recommend with essentially any vintage meter, a new owner should compare it against a known meter and use the ASA dial to establish the calibration that works best with the battery, film and shooting method being used. That said with a modern L44 it is pretty accurate. The film chamber, pressure plate, shutter curtains and transport area present very nicely, as shown in the photographs. Cosmetic condition — genuine black-paint patina This is where I think this particular camera becomes especially attractive.
