KATUMA SEMI LYRA A — 6×4.5 120 FOLDING CAMERA — FILM TESTED Images Attached An uncommon Japanese 6×4.5 folding camera, apparently dating from the 1950s, fitted with a Katuma Opt. Co. Terionar 7.5cm f/3.5 lens. Details • Katuma Semi Lyra A • 120 roll film • 6×4.5cm format • Terionar 7.5cm f/3.5 lens • Body No. 3458 • Lens No. 3572 • Manual focus • Folding design • Made in Japan • Yellow filter included Condition & Operation Film tested and used successfully by me. Film advance, focusing, shutter and basic camera operation functioned properly in actual use, and the attached sample images were made with this camera. All speeds seemed accurate to the ear and what I shot in the field exposed out well. The lens has some dust but no terrible haze or any fungus that I have noticed. I was actually quite impressed with the imagery and the colour rendition from the lens. I know the flash synch does not work, and I refuse to even test a self timer on a vintage camera so I cant vouch for that. The camera shows substantial cosmetic wear from age, particularly deterioration/loss of portions of the original exterior covering. The exposed metal, controls and markings remain quite presentable. Please examine the photographs carefully for exact cosmetic condition. About the Semi Lyra The Semi Lyra is one of the less commonly encountered Japanese 6×4.5 folders of the postwar period. Information on Katuma and this model is relatively limited today, making it an interesting piece for collectors of lesser-known Japanese cameras as well as someone who actually wants to shoot it.
