Fiber, oto's app, is looking for adults in the Los Angeles area to join recorded video conversations for AI training data. This is fully remote participation. The map shows the recruiting area, not an office or meeting location. Talk for 10 minutes with a friend, family member or someone else you know. Each person joins from a separate quiet room. You follow a topic shown in the app and speak in your own words. No teaching, acting or professional recording experience is required. Pay Up to $50/h per eligible recorded hour, per participant, paid through Stripe. Your final rate is determined after each recording based on audio quality. The $50 rate requires a MOS audio quality score of 4.5 or higher. Rates vary. Recording time and income are not guaranteed. Waiting, setup and registration time are not paid. How to join Each person creates an oto account, reviews the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and Recording Consent, installs Fiber, and completes the setup checks. People who know each other can join when they are both available. No one to invite? Join the daily matching window to try a conversation with another participant. A match is not guaranteed. Check the current schedule before joining. Important data use Your face and voice are recorded for AI datasets, including commercial use. Datasets may be licensed to other companies. Review the terms and recording consent before you agree. This is a request for new recordings in Fiber, not existing videos, podcast episodes or work calls. Requirements for both participants • Age 18 or older and resident in the United States. • Able to have a natural conversation in US English. • Residents of Washington, Illinois, Texas, Colorado and Connecticut, and recordings made from those states, are not eligible. • A computer with a webcam and microphone, or an Android phone, plus earbuds and a stable internet connection. • A separate quiet room, clear lighting, a stable camera and a clearly visible face. Both participants must complete the checks. The current project runs through December 31, 2026. Recording opportunities beyond that date are not promised.
