Hi, I'm a filmmaker and writer based in Venice, and I'm looking for a highly collaborative writing partner or story development collaborator. My first documentary was short-listed for an Academy Award, and I'm currently developing several new projects. I tend to work in a very idea-driven, verbal way, and I'm looking for someone who can help translate that into structure—outlines, scenes, and forward momentum. This isn't a typical assistant role. I'm looking for someone who enjoys shaping story in real time, who is organized, thoughtful, and comfortable contributing while supporting another writer's voice. Ideally, you: • Have a strong sense of story structure • Are highly organized and proactive • Enjoy collaboration and problem-solving in the room • Are able to help move projects from idea to execution We would meet a few times a week in person (Westside LA), working through ideas, outlining, and building scripts together. If this resonates, I'd love to hear a bit about you and any relevant work or samples you'd like to share. If you're interested, please include a brief note on how you typically approach turning a rough idea into a structured story. Best, Alex
